Two men are dead after what the police investigate as a suicide on Sunday in a northwest-aurora park, said civil servants.
Aurora officers already responded to the Park of General in 1561 Quentin St. for a possible domestic violence incident when the shooting took place, just before 5:30 pm on Sunday, according to a press release from the police.
When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man and a 63-year-old man who was both shot, according to the release.
Joe Moylan, a police spokesperson, said that researchers believe that the men knew each other, but the circumstances prior to the shooting continued to be investigated.
The 31-year-old man died on scene in the park and paramedics took the 63-year-old man to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries, the police said. Both men are identified by the Adams County Coroner office.
Researchers believe that one of the men shot the other before he turned the gun in itself but did not say which man.
A 45-year-old woman was also taken from the park to the hospital with unknown injuries, but the police said she was not involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers on 720-913-7867.
