The 2024/25 Serie A season is back and back with a bang as the usual giants look to challenge for the title, while other clubs hope they can achieve what Bologna did last season and surprisingly qualify for the Champions League. Inter and Juventus appear to be the favorites on paper to win the competition, but teams like AC Milan and Napoli will be hoping to spoil the party in what should be another exciting campaign.
Match of the Week: AC Milan vs. Lecce
After the exciting win over Inter, AC Milan and Christian Pulisic are back on the pitch at San Siro to take on Lecce. This match becomes much more relevant after last Sunday’s victory, as the Rossoneri need to confirm the positive feeling of the Derby della Madonnina and win their second match in a row for the first time this season. Pulisic has had an incredibly exciting start to the 2024/25 season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his first six games in all competitions. The USMNT winger also scored the opening goal of the derby against Inter after a great solo run and was one of the best players on the pitch.

Inter looks for a reaction
The Nerazzurri disappointed in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan, losing their first game of the season after two draws and two wins in their first four games so far. Simone Inzaghi’s team must respond after a good performance in the first away match of the Champions League campaign against Manchester City. The match against Udinese should be their response, but midfielder Nicolo Barella will be unavailable as he picked up an injury against AC Milan and will miss at least the next two games.

Napoli is flying
Antonio Conte’s side made a strong start to the season and despite losing their opening match they managed to win three games in a row before drawing against Juventus last week. The match against Monza could potentially give them the lead in Serie A as they currently sit second, just one point behind Torino, who face Lazio on Sunday morning.
