Hailie Jade Scott shares the story of how dad Eminem initially didn’t notice her pregnancy announcement.
Scott, whose pregnancy was revealed earlier this month, did so by giving the 15-time Grammy Award winner, 51, a Detroit Lions jersey with “Grandpa” on the back. However, as Scott, 28, explained on the Friday, October 11, episode of her “Just a bit shadypodcast, what she tried to tell him didn’t quite click.
“He said, ‘Are you trying to call me old?’ Why are you giving me this shirt that says Grandpa?” she recalled. “Then I held up the ultrasound and he said, ‘Oh my God. Wait, this is real? Is this happening?’”
At the time, the father-daughter duo was filming his “Temporary” music video, and the person recording their interaction was just as excited as the rapper (real name Marshall Mathers).

“It was actually really funny too, because the person recording clearly had no idea that that was the plan,” she continued. “They were like, ‘Oh, we’re just taking some pictures.’ So we had to mute their response because they were like, ‘What’s going on here? Is this real? ”
Scott went on to tell listeners that once her father calmed down, he decided to join in the fun by helping reveal the news to their loved ones.
“The rest of my family came over later to watch the movie [Detroit Lions] game,” she explained. “When they got here, my father was just wearing the shirt with the jacket over it. Then he took it off and they all saw that it said ‘Grandpa’ on it. And some of them were still saying, ‘What’s going on?’ until I pulled out the photo.
Later in the episode, Scott and husband Evan McClintock revealed the gender of their baby and told listeners they were “excited” to welcome a boy.

“When we found out, Evan said, ‘They’re going hunting with me. They’re going to play golf with me. I have a small size,” Scott said. “I was like, ‘Okay, they’re still going to Target with me.'”
However, McClintock made it clear that “whether it was a girl or a boy,” he hoped their baby would be interested in the things he likes.

Eminem revealed his daughter’s pregnancy earlier this month when he released the music video for “Temporary.” The visual featured clips of Scott growing up and offered sweet moments from her May wedding to McClintock. At one point in the video, fans watched as she surprised the rapper with her pregnancy news.
