Travis Kelce seems to have adopted style cues Taylor Swiftas he donned his own plaid statement ensemble this weekend.
Kelce, 35, celebrated the Kansas City Chiefs’ 10-loss streak this NFL season by posting a tribute via Instagram on Sunday, November 24, which also revealed that he was wearing a plaid shirt prior to the day’s match. The style choice came after fans pointed out last week that Swift, 34, has been wearing a lot of plaids herself lately.
The tight end posted seven photos of himself after the Chiefs defeated the Carolina Panthers 30-27 on Sunday, many of which showed off his colorful outfit choice. “Double digit dubs!!” Kelce captioned the post and led with a photo that clearly showed off the competition outfit.
Kelce paired his red, white and blue plaid shirt with cream corduroy pants, a crochet bucket hat and a Louis Vuitton bag, adding even more images, including full-length and close-up shots of his ensemble.
Additional footage showed Kelce running onto the field, followed by his teammate Patrick Mahomes and Kelce tapping helmets with fellow Chiefs, Noah Gray.
While the Instagram post initially seemed to mark the Chiefs’ major milestone in becoming the first team in the American Football Conference to reach double figures this season, fans were quick to point out that the choice of plaid wardrobe was telling.
“PLAID?! Are you kidding me Travis,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the post, while another wrote, “Plaid….We see you Tay.
Fans have theorized that after Swift showed up to the MTV Video Music Awards in September in a plaid, yellow zip-up bustier top, opting for a pleated plaid miniskirt later that month, before wearing a plaid, off-the-shoulder Vivienne. Westwood dress next month, Swift may tease a major musical reveal.
There are several theories surrounding the release of a music video ‘So High School’, a song from The department of tortured poets It is believed to be about Kelce, as well as the release of a lost album called Karma which Swift was working on and scrapped between 2014 1989 and 2017 Reputation.
Additional thoughts from fans include the possibility of an upcoming rock album, suggesting Swift is entering her ’90s era, the possibility of a new “Evermore” music video, as well as the announcement of the release of Reputation (Taylor’s version)which has been anticipated for several years.
Whatever the situation, there’s no doubt that Kelce and Swift are completely on the same page right now.
Fans were also quick to notice that Swift appeared to mimic Kelce’s signature moves while performing her third Eras tour concert in Toronto on November 17. During an improvised portion of “Midnight Rain,” Swift twisted her arms around each other before sticking her thumbs out to the side, reminiscent of a “Born to Hand Jive” from Fat.
The move was demonstrated by Kelce when he attended Swift’s concert in London in June.
