Country star Blake Shelton has his sights set on ‘breaking up’ The voice” by launching a new singing competition show.
RadarOnline.com can reveal details about the new project the award-winning singer hopes to launch nearly two years after leaving the hit NBC show.

Shelton, 48, is reportedly joining forces with Yellowstone producer Taylor Sheridan, hoping to start a new singing competition show called The road.
The duo is hopeful that the success of the show will spread The voice and will reportedly premiere on CBS next fall.
The show will reportedly help aspiring singers on tour see how to connect with local fans before choosing the ‘king’ of the group The road.

According to one Sphere insider: “Nothing would please him more than making this the biggest music competition show on the air.”
Shelton has been a frequent coach The voice over the years and has credited the show with turning his life around — and introducing him to his wife Gwen Stefani.

The insider added: “Blake wants to get the ball rolling on this, and he knows he’ll have a winner with Taylor’s co-production – as everything Taylor touches turns to gold.”
Since Shelton relinquished it The voicethe ratings took a huge toll after Reba McEntire replaced him as coach.
Over the past 18 months, the show has averaged about 7 million viewers — a huge difference from the 15 million viewers when Shelton was on the show.

The insider also explained details about the new show’s possible game plan, such as who will be looking for contestants – which Shelton is considering covering.
The source further explained, “Blake has thought about doing it himself, but he hasn’t toured much lately and is worried he doesn’t have the sea legs these days.”

Shelton, who is well-known in the country music industry, reportedly has his eye on fellow superstars he wants to have as mentors on the show, including Morgan Wallen, Thomas Rhett and Luke Combs.

When Shelton left the show after season 23, he was reportedly making $13 million per season.
His wife Gwen reportedly received the same salary during her time on the show before stepping down as coach.

Insiders say the country legend brings home about $13 million per season.
Shelton, who was the longest-serving original coach on the singing competition show and left in May 2023.
In December 2022, Shelton explained: “If I were to leave my career at this point, the only risk I would run into would be regretting missing out on some more important things in life. For now, those are our children. This is not about me anymore and will never be about me again.”
