Madeline Gaudreau announced the news on Instagram early Sunday morning… sharing a photo of their son holding her hand tightly – and revealing she named him Tripp.
In her caption, Madeline writes that Tripp is “mom and dad’s world,” keeping Matthew’s presence alive within the family. By the way, Matthew helped choose the name before he passed away, it seems.
As you know, just after 8 PM ET, Matthew and Johnny were biking in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, when an alleged drunk driver hit them from behind.
Police say the two suffered serious injuries and died at the scene… and a man was named Sean Higgins was arrested on two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
Bodycam footage taken shortly after the Gaudreaus became agents of the hit shows Subjecting Higgins to a series of sobriety tests before handcuffing him.
Matthew’s wife revealed how excited he was to become a father during her eulogy days after he was killed … and said, “The moment we heard about our son, Tripp, he was consuming his every day. He was downloading apps, ordering books, looking for the best diaper brands. Made sure I had the best vitamins and asked for tips from John.”
Matthew was 29 and Johnny 31.
