Liverpool have launched an investigation into the situation surrounding Barcelona midfielder Gavi. According to Catalan outlet Nacional, the Reds want to bring the 20-year-old to Anfield.
He appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou under Hansi Flick. The German appears to favor teenager Marc Casado and Pedri in the double rotation, relegating Gavi to an option mostly used off the bench. He made twelve appearances this season, but only played 241 minutes.
Thus, he has emerged as a possible transfer option for several clubs, including Liverpool. His contract expires in the summer of 2026. Since the report shows that there have been no discussions between player and club about extending his stay, he could find a way out relatively cheaply.
Gavi plans to stay at Barcelona, hoping to impress the manager and fight for his place. However, should he decide to leave, the Reds would be keen to add him to the squad.
