Music stars seem big this year… with huge tributes to Elvis Presley And BB King leads the long line of carefully crafted floats.
Other platforms feature animals, such as the brown and white dog sitting on top of a float. Another float pays tribute to bowling, with white pins and a purple ball dominating the display.
Scott Lamb is the floral director of that one… and he posed with his masterpiece – he seemed quite proud of the work his team had done.
Someone has to be in charge of the flower design… and this year it is Nicholas St. Clair — seen here collecting a bucket of “Hearts Roses” in the flower tent. He grins hugely and anticipates the exciting event.
Not nearly as many floats could be completed without the volunteers, pictured here applying petals, seeds and other materials to floats for this year’s parade – the 136th edition of the historic event.
If you don’t know… the Rose Parade – also known as the Tournament of Roses – is an annual parade held on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, CA. It is tied to the Rose Bowl Game – the city’s annual college football game held at Rose Bowl Stadium – which this year features Ohio State University and the University of Oregon.
It looks like everything is ready for tomorrow… and the whole event is going well!
