Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, has shut down trade speculation surrounding his client. The revelation comes days after Hill’s controversial departure during the season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, sparked trade rumors after removing himself from Sunday’s game. His actions followed a frustrating season in which he posted career-low numbers with just 81 catches for 959 yards.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show on January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus revealed previously unknown details about Hill’s commitment to the Dolphins;

“Tyreek Hill broke his wrist in a scrimmage against the Commanders at Training Camp. He wasn’t going to miss the season and he wanted to play. He is committed to the Miami Dolphins and he had an excellent meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel,” Rosenhaus said .

The impact of the wrist injury was evident in Tyreek Hill’s production. His 959 receiving yards marked his lowest performance in a full season since his 2016 rookie year with Kansas City. This followed back-to-back 1,700-yard campaigns at Miami.

Rosenhaus addressed Hill’s emotional outburst after Sunday’s game, where the receiver had stated, “I’m out, buddy. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day I had to do what was best for my career.”

“Tyreek Hill was emotional after the game and the Dolphins guys know he is a great competitor. We represent thirteen guys on this team and not one of them has a complaint about Tyreek,” Rosenhaus emphasized.

Dolphins GM Chris Grier confirmed that Hill has not requested a trade. Head coach Mike McDaniel met with Hill for an hour to discuss his game exit;

“I was very direct with him … that it is not acceptable to leave a game and it will not be tolerated in the future, and he embraced the responsibility,” McDaniel said.

The situation reflects mounting pressure on Hill, who signed a three-year, $90 million extension before the 2024 season. His contract includes $59 million in guaranteed money and has significant salary cap implications: $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.

Adding context to Hill’s struggles, quarterback Tagovailoa had limited action due to concussions and hip injuries. This left the receiver working with backup quarterbacks Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson for much of the season.
