Americans have a hard time keeping up with rising egg prices … but chef Andrew Zimmern Has a solution – look at foreign breakfast menus for some inspiration.
TMZ has overtaken the four-fold James Beard Award winning chef and TV personality … And he thinks that a no-brainer way to save some dollars is to stop the “egg loaded” of American breakfast and some swaps from cultures that do not necessarily use eggs as a staple of their diet.
Zimmern specifically welcomes Japan and Italy for filling breakfast without eggs. The Asian country absorbs grilled fish, rice, pickles and soup in their morning meals … while Italians reach for meat, cheese and toast, with some ricotta and jam.
Of course, the creator of “Bizarre Foods” is entirely for the typical egg replacement he recommends the righteous egg brand on, although he acknowledges that vegetable alternatives can also be difficult for the wallet.
