The phones from Samsung’s Galaxy A-series are consistent favorites and offer users an affordable but functions-rich alternative to flagship models.
The Galaxy A36, the long-awaited successor of the Galaxy A35, has recently appeared on Geekbench and in leaked 3D renders, giving us a look at what the next Mid-Range telephone of Samsung could have in the store.
Here is everything we know so far about the release date, price and important specifications.
When is the Samsung Galaxy A36 released?
The Galaxy A36 is expected to launch Early 2025.
Since the A35 debuted in March 2024, it is likely that the A36 will follow a similar schedule, shortly after the launch of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series. However, there have been no concrete release date leaks or rumors.
For the context, the previous generations have been launched here:
- Samsung Galaxy A32 – February 2021
- Samsung Galaxy A33 – March 2022
- Samsung Galaxy A34 – March 2023
- Samsung Galaxy A35 – March 2024
The international version of the Galaxy A36 became Benchmark Benchmarkt in October (via Geekbench) and now the American -specific model has undergone the same test (via MySmartprice). This confirms that the Galaxy A36 will be available on the American market.
In addition, the device recently appeared on the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under the IDS SM-A366E/DS (via Mysmartprice), which marked a new milestone on its path to release.
In addition, Samsung Kazakhstan and Samsung Russia have mentioned support pages for the Galaxy A36, which further indicates that its launch is imminent.
Finally, Gsmarena reported that the Galaxy A36 was shown in a series of French repair -indices placed by Samsung France. The handset earned a repairability score of 8.4/10, which is the same score that the predecessor has received.
How much does the Samsung Galaxy A36 cost?
Although the exact prices of the Galaxy A36 are still under wraps, it probably falls within a similar price range as its predecessor.
The Galaxy A35 cost £ 339/$ 399.99 for the Base 8 GB/128 GB model, with the 8GB/256 GB version that cost £ 389 in the UK but not sold in the US. We can expect the A36 to be priced in the same way, but a slightly lower or higher price is fully possible.
What specifications and functions does the Samsung Galaxy A36 have?
Leaked 3D rivers, thanks to Giznext and Onleaks, reveal some potential important characteristics of the Galaxy A36.
Design
According to that display, Samsung returns to a cameraseland design, with the three rear cameras that are now grouped in a vertical setup, similar to older models such as the Galaxy A30s.
Despite this change, certain design characteristics, such as the ‘Key Island’ for the power and volume buttons, remain.
The A36 is also set to slightly narrower and larger than its predecessor, the A35, with a width of 77.9 mm and a height of 162.6 mm.
It can also be slimmer, with the leak that suggests a thickness of 7.4 mm (9.6 mm including the camera culture).
Reproduction
The same views also reveal that the A36 will probably be supplied with a 6.6-inch dynamic amoled 2x display, which retains a 120Hz renewal speed comparable to the A35.
The resolution and brightness can see minor improvements, and Samsung is expected to cut the edges for a more modern look.

The display will probably contain a punch-hole camera and an in-display fingerprint reader, in accordance with the design aesthetics of recent A-series models.
Performance
The international version of the Galaxy A36 was tested at Geekbench in October (via Gsmarena), and now the American specific model has undergone the same process with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset.
The tested prototype contained 6 GB RAM, although extra configurations can be available at the launch. It achieved a single-core score of 967 and a multi-core score of 2,750 on Geekbench 6.3.0.
Luke Baker
An earlier Geekbench list suggested the Snapdragon 6 gene 3 or the Snapdragon 7S Gen 2, but now the first seems to be confirmed.
If this is true, this would be a shift from the Exynos 1380 that is used in the Galaxy A35, indicating that Samsung’s decision of Samsung to rely on Qualcomm for this model.
However, this still needs to be confirmed, and we could still see Exynos from the Galaxy A36.
Early Benchmark scores indicate slightly lower performance than the A35, but the use of Real-World will determine the actual impact.
The above Geekbench list mentions a memory of 5.2 GB, suggesting that the basic model can be supplied with 6 GB RAM. This would be a downgrade of the Galaxy A35, which offers 8 GB on both models.
Cameras
Sammobile reports that Samsung can increase the resolution of the camera control at the front to 32MP, similar to the Galaxy A55, and contains a 12MP ultrawide rear camera. Both would be upgrades of the A35, which had a 13MP Selfie -Lens and 8MP Ultrawide.
The main camera is expected to retain optical image stabilization (OIS) and will deliver good image quality in various lighting conditions. However, it is not clear whether there are changes in the 50MP lens or the 5MP macro.
Luke Baker
According to a recent report from the Dutch site Galaxyclub, the rear -view camera retains the 50MP sensor of its predecessor and the selfie camera is upgraded to a 12MP sensor, replacing the 13MP sensor used in earlier A3X models.
This change is expected to provide better photo quality. Interesting is that, although the Galaxy A56 will also have a 12MP selfie camera, the implementation of the A56 is said to produce results that are superior to the A36.
It remains uncertain whether Samsung will make changes to the UltraWide or Macro cameras on the A36, but given the tendency of the company to introduce only small updates in its A-series devices, important changes are unlikely.
Battery and charging
The Galaxy A36 supports 45W wired wired, as revealed by its IECE certification (via MySmartPrice) and appears in the TUV Rheinland certification database (via Gizmochina.)
Luke Baker
Although details of the battery capacity are not attached, it is likely that the A36 will hold the 5000 mAh battery in the A35.
This large battery, combined with the efficient 4NM chipset, could provide improvements to the already fixed battery life.
Software
The Galaxy A36 will probably be sent with Android 15 and Samsung’s One onion 7.0 from the box.
Samsung recently dedicated to six large Android updates for the cheaper Galaxy A16, which means that the A36 updates could receive all the way to Android 21. That would be one of the best supported mid-range telephones that are there.
