“It’s crazy. I mean, it’s an everyday thing. Since we opened in August, there hasn’t been a day where there hasn’t been an incident,” Mardaie told the outlet at the time.
“I come from Yemen, a third world country, and we don’t have those incidents in a third world country where there is no law and order.”
The rampant crime plaguing the area has caused fear in the community, with customers expressing concerns for their safety.
Ebony Bolton, a store owner, expressed her concern about the incident, telling the outlet, “It’s very disheartening, I’m afraid to go out in the dark and I don’t know it’s just alarming.” The prevalence of crime has forced leading businesses like In-N-Out to close their doors in the area due to safety concerns.
