"Some bullying governments insist on negotiations": Khamenei na Trump threat

Tehran:

The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saved on Saturday what he described as bullying tactics a day after US President Donald Trump had threatened military action against Iran.

“Some bullying governments – I really don’t know any more suitable term for some foreign figures and leaders than the word bullying – insist on negotiations,” Khamenei told officials after Trump told military action as Iran to have conversations about her nuclear program.

“Their negotiations are not aimed at solving problems, they are focused on domination,” said Khamenei.

On Friday, Trump said that he had written the Supreme Leader of Iran, in which he had insisted on new conversations about the nuclear program of the country or experiences possible military action when it refuses.

Khamenei said on Saturday that plague powers want to assert their own expectations.

“They appoint new expectations that they think they will certainly not be satisfied by Iran,” he said, without calling the United States or referring to Trump’s letter.

On Friday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi AFP said in an interview that Tehran would not negotiate under “Maximum pressure”, although he did not tackle Trump’s letter directly.

Trump restored his policy of his first term of maximum pressure on Iran on return to the White House in January.

According to this policy, the United States withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Accord in 2018, which is formally known as the joint extensive action plan (JCPOA).

The JCPOA, which takes place between Tehran and the Western powers in 2015, had offered lighting through economic sanctions in exchange for limits for the nuclear activities of Iran.

In recent months, Tehran has delivered diplomatic efforts with three European countries – Great -Britain, France and Germany – aimed at solving issues surrounding nuclear ambitions.

On Saturday, however, Khamenei also closed the three European countries “stated that Iran did not fulfill its nuclear obligations under the JCPOA”.

“You say that Iran has not fulfilled its obligations under the JCPOA. Okay, have you fulfilled your obligations under the JCPOA?” He responded.

Peaceful nature

Khamenei said that Tehran had adhered to his obligations for a year, but there was “no other way” but to roll it back under the deal after legislation by the parliament of the country.

American officials now estimate that Iran could produce a nuclear weapon within a few weeks if it chose to do this.

Tehran has consistently denied that they are pursuing nuclear weapons, with the emphasis on the peaceful character of his nuclear program.

Civil servants have always made a religious decision issued by Khamenei that prohibits the development of such weapons.

Last month, Khamenei repeated his opposition against negotiations with the United States and called this ‘unwise’ only a few days after Trump had called up a new nuclear deal.

Khamenei accused Washington of having “ruined, violated and torn” the 2015 agreement.

In 2019, more than a year after Trump’s withdrawal from the JCPOA, the then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan visited Iran in an attempt to mediate between Tehran and Washington.

But Khamenei strongly rejected the possibility of conversations with the United States and said that he “did not consider Trump as a person who was worth exchange messages”.
