Millie Bobby Brown on gossip magazines say 'She looks 40': 'My face grew'

Millie Bobby Brown continues to speak against the tabloid media, especially when it comes to criticizing her appearance in relation to her age.

In the latest episode of the Podcast “Call Her Daddy”, the 21 -year -old “Stranger Things” star host Alex Cooper told that the press “Love to go in me with certain things”, including “that I look much older” and point to changes in her British accent.

“One thing I get a lot is like:” Oh my God, she looks like 40, “said Brown.” And I am so, well, you met me when I was 10, so I understand it. Now I am 21, it’s 10 years ago. She grows. My face grew like, what do you want to do? ”

Brown, however, said that the constant control “really doesn’t bother me.”

“I wish I could be:” You know what, it will come to me. ” It used to be … And I remember to please myself, “she said.

On March 3, Brown posted a video on her Instagram who called on specific press members to ‘bully’ and ‘to dissect my face, my body, my choices’.

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old,” Brown wrote to the video in the caption. “I grew up for the world, and for some reason people can’t grow with me. Instead, they pretend to stay frozen on time, as I would still have to look like I did on season 1 of ‘Stranger Things’. And because I don’t do that, I am now a target. “

With Cooper about “Call her father,” Brown said that kind of treatment “should never be in order” and she is “disgusting”.

“I can’t believe it still happens. And if I can do something to change it, I would do that, “she said. “If I had a genius, I would really want nobody to ever have to go through that kind of control because it changes the kind of person you are. It changes the way you perceive the world. You see the bad one in everyone, you don’t see the good. You are something like: “What are your intentions, what are you going to say about me?” “

She concluded that “the press just had to be learned again,” and added: “I think they should go back to school and learn how to speak to people, are friendly and just understand that we all grow people, we all make mistakes. Ultimately, the norms and stigmas against girls are ridiculous.”

Brown has recently been making the press to promote her new Netflix film ‘The Electric State’, which she plays next to Chris Pratt. During an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Brown also gave insight into why she decided that it was now the right time to speak out against her representation in the press.

“I kept apologizing, as if it was just not the right time or I shouldn’t do it, people are going to respond poorly. And then I realized, I just keep apologizing because I’m scared, “said Brown. “And when is the right time for a woman to stand up for herself? And actually I can’t wait any longer. ”
