Southbound Interstate 25 in Denver is closed after an early morning crash Saturday left one person dead, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Officers are investigating a fatal crash involving two motorists on southbound I-25 near 20th Street, Denver police said in a statement statement on social media. One motorist died at the scene of the accident, ambulance personnel took the other to hospital with unknown injuries.
I-25 was closed around 4 a.m. Saturday between Interstate 70 and Exit 213 for Park Avenue. CDOT officials said.
A detour is in place directing motorists from westbound I-70 to US 287/Federal Boulevard and from Colfax back to southbound I-25. according to CDOT officials.
