The Hollywood Reporter released a story on Bryan, which quoted four sources claiming that the True heart star stole money from them through a fraudulent scheme involving an agricultural technology start-up. The unnamed individuals believed they had received false contracts and accused Bryan of collecting a total of approximately $50,000 from them.
Defending himself, he said: “This wasn’t me running some shady scam deal or anything – that’s just not me.”
Bryan also claimed that he was “in the same boat” since he also invested in the company.
He added: “What people don’t understand is that you take risks. Nothing is certain. The same goes for film investments and everything else: you either lose or you win.”
