Added Denver Fire Station No. 3 to the National Register of Historic Places

The National Register of Historic Places has listed Denver’s Fire Station No. 3, Denver’s longest continuously operating fire station, added to the list as part of the Colorado Heritage for All Initiative led by History Colorado. City and Colorado History officials held a dedication event at the station Thursday.

According to a press release from History Colorado, the station was recognized, “for the courage and dedication of the all-Black firefighters who faithfully served the multicultural Five Points Neighborhood despite the segregationist policies of 1931 – 1957.”
