Adroa Andoh, Evangeline Lilly Set for Honderingen on New Italian TV Fest

A new controversial event dedicated to the global TV series is launched in Italy with “Bridgerton” star Araboa Andoh, Evangeline Lilly (“Lost”) and the Italian ‘Godfather of Disco’ Giorgio Moroder on board to be linked to career prizes.

Also planned for tribute to the new Italian Global Series Festival (IGSF) are the locally popular Italian comic actor and director Carlo Verdone and beloved actress Elena Sofia Ricci, who recently played in Pubcaster Rai’s Best Reviewed Holocaust “La Farfazita.”

IGSF is advertised as a reincarnation of the Roma Fiction Festival, which ran in the Eternal City between 2006 and 2016 and was currently inspired by an urgency of the TV production community of Italy to broaden its horizon.

In contrast to its predecessor, the new TV event will run in two adjacent Italian seaside resorts aan Zee, Riccione and Rimini, with dates for June 21-28. That lock will add another event by the sea to the busy June calendar of the country, which all the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily includes that 10-14 June is running and Italy Sardegna is being filmed on 20-23 June.

The Italian journalist Marco Spagnoli – who is deputy director of the MIA market of Rome – has been appointed artistic director of IGSF, who is organized by Italian TV producers’ Association APA in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers).

The plan is that the inaugural IGSF edition has both an international and an Italian league trench and has first-look screening, keynotes and conversations on stage. These will be moderated by Piera Detassis, president of the David di Donatello Awards, the equivalent of Italy of the Oscars, and by Laura delli Colli, which leads to the Italian film journalists’ Union.

Igsf jury members will include two-time Palme d’Or winning director Bille August, whose TV series “The Count of Monte Cristo” has been a huge hit in Italy, by Oscar nominated director Cristina Comencini (“Don’t Tell”) and Paolo Genovesis, Die, Die, Die Genovese, Die Genovesis, Die Genovesis, Die Genovesis, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Die Genovese, Genovesese, Die Genovese, Genovesese, Genovesisese, Genovesisese, Genovesisese, Genovesse’s Genovese. The full program of the Fest will be unveiled at the beginning of May.
