The eccentric Agatha first appeared in the MCU in the Wandavision series as a curious neighbor named Agnes. The seemingly imperative woman turned out to be a ruthless witch who was looking for the unique forces of Wanda Maximoff. However, viewers came to love the fast touring wizard and Marvel decided to give her a stand -alone series.
Agatha always included part of phase five of the MCU and became a hit among viewers and critics. The question is, will the series return for a magical second season?

Is there an Agatha about season 2?

Disney has not yet commented on Agatha’s fate. However, one of the stars has claimed that the series will not return for a second round.
Patti Lupone, who played Lilia Calderu, revealed that the showrunner told her that Agatha is a one-and-driven show all the time.

Speaking at the Andy Cohen Live -Podcast, she said the following (paraphrased by the wrap):
“Jac Schaeffer, the maker, came to my trailer and she said,” Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia will die, “and I went,” but I wanted a second season. ” … “[Schaffer] said: ‘I don’t do second seasons. They wanted me to do a second season of Wanda Vision and I didn’t. “She said,” There is too much to write, “so she does one -off and I hope and pray that I will ever work with her again because she is magical. ‘
Disney has not yet commented on this news, but it is not surprising. Agatha was described as a mini series all the time, which means that the story would be closed with only one season.
However, there was speculation that Disney would make a U-turn about this, because the show was presented as a comedy on the Emmy, not a limited series. That was the case with Shogun, which unexpectedly received a second episode, even though he was initially considered a mini series.
But that does not mean that Agatha Harkess is completed in the MCU. Disney announced the premiere of Vision Quest in 2026, the next spin-off series magic vision. If Disney does not make Agatha by that time, we will probably learn what happens to the Witch and Billy in this new production.

What has always happened in Agatha?
In Wandavision we saw a much grimmer version of Agatha. Instead of the mentor of Wanda, she was her enemy and for her faulty sinister witches, although she was still funny and charismatic. At the end of the series she is trapped by Wanda in the Persona of Agnes and convicted of living in an ordinary world.
In Agatha she found a way all the time to break the Hex van Maximoff with the help of Rio Vidal and Billy. However, she realized that she was powerless. To reclaim her capacities, she collected a witch covenant and went on a path – the Witches’ road – filled with dark magic, dangerous beings and enemies.
The road has wiped out most of the connected, including Agatha itself. Although we thought this was the end of her story, Agatha appeared as a spirit for Billy. She revealed that the road was a complete scam, made up for her long ago to enable her to remove other witches from their power.
The story of the road, however, was so legendary that Billy, unconsciously, accepts the powerful illusion skills of his mother under life-threatening circumstances.
Agatha also showed that over time she loved Billy, perhaps as a son-figure for Nicholas, the boy she lost.

The show concluded with Agatha and Billy in search of Tommy, the lost Maximoff Twin who also inhabited another ship. But how can this story continue if there is no Agatha all the time?
The MCU has many shows and films, and there have been rumors for a long time that a Young Avengers project is in the making, and the twins would be perfect additions to the group. Two Avengers films are also planned, which is always a big excuse for bringing in different faces from over the MCU.
The other character that probably returns to a certain capacity is Rio Vidal, aka Lady Death. She and Agatha shared a complex relationship, with the few former lovers. Agatha apparently never forgiven Rio because he brought her son past the veil, but she seemed to make peace with her fate by sharing a kiss with Rio – a crucial moment for the MCU.
As an entity, Rio could easily appear in another film or series – especially if the life of a character is at stake.

Which Cast members from Agatha could return all the time?
Although Agatha’s future does not seem promising all the time, there is a chance that we could see some of these characters return to another project:
- Kathryn Hahn – Agatha Harkness
- Aubrey Plaza – Rio Vidal/Lady Death
- Sasheer Zamata – Jennifer Kale
- Joe Locke – Billy Maximoff
It is unlikely that we will see Debra Jo Rupp again as Sharon Davis, Ali Ahn as Alice of Patti Lupone as Lilia Calderu – the characters met a grim end in the first season.
