With Champions League football just around the corner next week, this is a time when the top sides will start to rotate, meaning out-of-favour Americans can get a look. Impressing those opportunities is an easy way to become regulars. their sides. Others, such as Weston McKennie and Tim Weah, may be given opportunities to continue their good form. The duo scored for Juventus in midweek and will look to do the same against Udinese during a charged Saturday in Serie A for Americans.
Let’s see what to look out for during the weekend
Weston McKennie & Tim Weah: Udinese vs Juventus
Saturday, November 2 (1:00 PM ET Biggest+)
Juventus may not have been in the best form since losing Bremer to injury, but that is not due to a lack of effort from their American contingent. Both McKennie and Weah are in top form and are trying to speed up the attack, but they need support from those around them. Facing a Udinese side that has improved this season, it won’t be as easy to score as it has been of late, but no matter how the duo have performed, that doesn’t matter.
Christian Pulisic & Yunus Musah: Moza vs Milan
Saturday, November 2 (3:45 PM ET Biggest+)
Illness prevented Christian Pulisic from starting Milan’s final match, but their talisman still came off the bench and tried to get things done. With his time behind him, it will be worth seeing if Paulo Fonseca lets him start from the bench again with Champions League play on the horizon. As for Pulisic, Milan will go, but if he doesn’t start, that could also bring Yunus Musah back into the starting lineup, giving him more opportunities to establish himself.
Mark McKenzie: Toulouse vs Riems
Sunday, November 3 (9:00 AM ET Fubo TV)
Mark McKenzie, a regular starter for the France squad, has grown during his short time at Toulouse. Riems may not be one of the most dangerous sides in Ligue 1, but their attack can make things happen. With strong, versatile attackers around the flank, they can provide a unique challenge for the defense. McKenzie will have to interact with his teammates more than usual, adding to the growth opportunities he can acquire in France.
Joe Scally: Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Werder Bremen
Sunday, November 3 (11:30 a.m. ET ESPN+)
Werder Bremen can’t defend, but they can make things happen through the wings that Joe Scally needs to patrol. Scally isn’t making as much progress as usual, but this could be his moment to break out. He has yet to register a goal or assist in 10 appearances in all competitions after being involved in five games last season, but if he can continue to improve defensively that may not happen.
Antonee Robinson: Fulham vs Brentford
Monday, November 4 (3:00 PM ET US en fuboTV)
Antonee Robinson has become one of the best left-backs in the entire Premier League, but he faces a challenge on Monday. Bryan Mbuemo is in good form for the Bees with eight goals already in the competition. Robinson has managed to move forward, but balance will be key. If he can keep both, there’s a good chance Fulham can secure a result, but they’ll have to give it everything they’ve got.
