'Anora' lands the main prize at PGA Awards (list of full winners)

The producers Guild of America Awards brought some clarity for the upcoming Oscars race because “Anora” took the top prize of the evening after it also won the top DGA prize for director Sean Baker, as well as the Critics Choice Award on Friday .

‘The Wild Robot’ by DreamWorks won Momentum by earning the PGA animation film Prize, while “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story”, who missed the shortlist of the Academy Awards, the PGA price for Outstanding Producer or Documentary Motion Picture to house.

On the television side, “Hacks” followed his strong show of Friday’s Critics Choice Awards, where the Danny Thomas Award was landed for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Comedy. In the meantime, Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” landed the David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer or Limited or Anthology Series Television. Other TV winners are “Saturday Night Live” in the Live Entertainment, Variety, Sketch, Standup & Talk Television Category and “The Traitors” for Game & Competition Series.

The PGA Awards are generally considered as a strong predictor for the Academy Awards, in particular in the Best Picture category. The PGA followed the example when the Academy expanded its attitude of five to 10 nominees in 2009. Since then, the nominations of the guild have been a good indicator of Oscar success, with eight out of 10 PGA nominees that are translated on average into NODS at the Academy Awards.

That is also true this year: eight of the ten film mominees also earned the best photo Oscar (“Anora”, “The Brutalist”, “A Complete Unknown”, “Conclave”, “Dune: Part Two”, “Emilia Pérez , “” The substance “a” bad “). PGA nominees “A Real Pain” and “5 September” missed recognition in the category at the Oscars, with “I’m Still here” and “Nickel Boys” that hook the remaining two slots.

In the PGA Awards ceremony on Saturday, Searchlight Pictures was the only studio that scored two noms this year, with “a real pain” and “a completely unknown” both who made the list.

Destroying forest fires in South California have encouraged both the PGA and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to expand voting deadlines last month, with the PGA that postponed its nominations from January 10 to January 13, and the Oscars that Their nomination announcement shifted from January 17 to January 23.

The recurring theme of Saturday evening was a call to relocate film and television production to Los Angeles. It went in some places, such as when PGA-Co President Donald de Line said: “The films made Los Angeles and it’s time to relocate the films.” Others appealed to the “Moguls in the Room” to do the right thing, but it was not lost with many guests that the producers themselves have put locations.
