During WWDC 2024, Apple software chief Craig Federghi hinted that the company wants to integrate more AI models, including Google Gemini.
Now a new leak suggests that this integration could be on the road in the near future, writes 9to5Mac.
According to code recorder Aaron Perris, who analyzed a backend-update in the iOS 18.4 BETA, Apple has added both Google and OpenAi and options for third-party models within Apple Intelligence.
Although this does not confirm that Google Gemini will be immediately available in iOS 18.4, it does show that Apple is working on integration.
Given the delays that have already achieved Apple Intelligence, it can take a later iOS 18 -update or iOS 19 before the position becomes available. Apple is also expected to release its own conversation model for Siri in iOS 19.
In the meantime, Google has recently launched Gemini 2.0, including a new model for advanced reasoning options. These models can soon make their debut on the iPhone – at least for users of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16/16 Pro and iPhone 16th.
