After a long wait, Netflix has finally released an official trailer for the second season of Arcane – a truly gripping story with a huge fanbase, including those with no prior knowledge of the League of Legends universe.
When Arcane premiered on Netflix in 2021, it quickly received acclaim from critics and fans alike. Riot Games’ adaptation of League of Legends appealed to fans of the original title and those with little knowledge of the game. Arcane captivated viewers with its unique animation style, steampunk atmosphere, complex moral dilemmas and charismatic characters.
Two years have passed since the release of the first season. Although Netflix greenlit the next episode, there was no information about season 2 for a long time. However, the first details about the new episodes of Arcane are starting to emerge. We’ve rounded up all the latest news and speculation about the second season.
When is Arcane season 2 coming out?
According to the latest information, Arcane will return to Netflix in November 2024.
The new season will take three years to create – a fact that should come as no surprise, as work on the first took a whopping six years. The makers want to create something truly spectacular for the fans.
It turned out that season 2 will be the finale of Vi and Jinx’s story. Fortunately, this does not mean the end of the stories from the League of Legends universe.
Christian Linke, co-creator of the show, explains in a video published on X that the sisters’ story was planned for two seasons from the beginning. However, the success of animation led writers to create even more series and films set in this universe.
What is the plot of Arcane season 2?
Netflix has not yet released any information about the plot of season 2. Presumably, the storyline will continue directly after the bloody events at the end of season 1.
In the season finale, Jinx, raging with rage, attacked the Piltover council, which was voting on Zaun’s independence. The attack likely resulted in the deaths of many people, leading to a war between the two cities.
The relationship between Vi and Jinx remains a central theme in season 2. However, it seems that their bond is beyond repair. Thanks to Netflix’s latest trailer, we know that Jinx will become the leader of the rebels who want to overthrow order in Piltover. However, against the rioters will be Vi, who has already lost hope of saving her sister. Caitlyn, among others, will fight alongside her.
Meanwhile, Piltover authorities will impose martial law in response to the attack, worsening the situation in the towns.
Who is in the voice cast for Arcane season 2?
We expect the following cast member to appear in the next episode of the show:
- Hailee Steinfeld – VI
- Ella Purnell – Jinx
- Katie Leung – Caitlyn Kiramman
- Kevin Alejandro –Jayce Talis
