His nickname may be El Presidente, but don’t expect to see that Dave Portnoy Voting will happen soon… because the founder of Barstool Sports says there’s a zero percent chance he’ll ever run for political office.
Portnoy – who is passionate about his views on social media – was asked about the possibility of joining government on the most recent episode of “The resilient life” of Ryan Manion …and despite admitting he’s had the idea in the past, he’s confident he’ll go that far.
The resilient life
“Never,” Portnoy said. ‘I’ve thought about it. It makes me so angry, but I am convinced that you can get much more done if you don’t hold political office.’
“So if you’re actually trying to help people, I don’t think you want to be an elected official.”
When Manion explained that she understands Portnoy’s position, but thinks change will never happen unless people with ‘common sense’ take office… he gave a pretty pessimistic answer.
“But I don’t know if we’ll ever get there,” he added.
Portnoy was a strong supporter of the former president Donald Trump throughout his own political career… and even had a one-on-one interview with him in 2020.
He also unleashed when Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race … accusing the Democratic Party of trying to “hijack democracy.”
But one thing is clear: As excited as Portnoy is about the current state of the country, he doesn’t come on stage as anything more than an observer.
Of course, Donald has shot down a presidential candidate before before ultimately becoming number 45… like that Justin Bieber says: never say never??
