BingoPlus donates €15 million to charities
Comprehensive sports and entertainment platform BingoPlus celebrated BingoPlus Day Cebu Carnival by donating donations worth P15 million to charities.
The company’s generosity was driven by a desire to give back to key communities in the country during difficult times.
Of the €15 million donation, the BingoPlus Foundation has given €10 million to the families and individuals affected by the recent super typhoon Carina.
Given the devastating aftermath of the extreme weather events, the Foundation immediately began relief operations in Metro Manila and several areas in Luzon.

Initially set at P8 million, the donation was supplemented by another P2 million at the end of the Cebu Carnival, thanks to a cross between the BingoPlus Foundation and Cornerstone.

“This is one aspect of the BingoPlus Day Cebu Carnival where we give back to the people,” said Andy Tsui, president of DigiPlus, during a press conference ahead of the event. “We always try to find a balance between having fun and being responsible nation builders, and this is what we decided to do.”
In addition to its quick response to the negative impacts of the recent typhoon, BingoPlus fulfilled its promise to donate millions to three beneficiaries who attended the BingPlus Day Cebu Carnival. These were the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II; the Philippine Accessible Disability Services, Inc. (PADS); and Dumanjug Municipality, Cebu Province.
For the DSWD Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II, the BingoPlus Foundation offers a PLUS e-Center for Livelihood and Technology, with computer kits for digital skills training and printing machines for the application of design skills in tarpaulin and t-shirt printing – an investment of at least 1, 5 million euros. The Foundation aims to expand employment opportunities in the digital economy, especially for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), as the computers will be equipped with audio software for the benefit of blind trainees. The e-center will further assist graduates who cannot currently afford computers and internet to work remotely, while the printing machines will help small business operations get off to a flying start. The vocational center currently accommodates 154 interns.
“On behalf of DSWD, especially Field Office 7, we are extremely grateful to the BingoPlus Foundation for their most generous donation,” said Juanito C. Cantero, DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations for Region VII. “It will increase our customers’ confidence and help them become more productive in the community.”
President Andy Tsui, President Jasper Vicencio and Vice President Celeste Jovenir join PADS representatives in cheering as they receive their check donation.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Accessible Disability Services, Inc. (PADS) to benefit from the P2 million donation for the construction of a PLUS Center for Adaptive Sports and Physical Rehabilitation. Poor PWDs and recovering patients from stroke, paralysis and other conditions affecting mobility will receive free rehabilitation services. In collaboration with the Mandaue LGU and Colleges of Rehabilitative Sciences in Cebu, doctors and medical specialists will also be able to hone their skills at the center. With the provision of accessible rehabilitation, PWDs will be able to find employment and achieve social inclusion as PWD athletes, coaches and workers in other sectors.

Regarding the donation, PADS representative and team captain of the PADS Adaptive Dragon Boat Racing Team, Owen Loceno Paddler, in Cebuano, said his only dream is that what he has received will be doubled by others.
With the BingoPlus Foundation’s P1.5 million donation, the Dumanjug Municipality will purchase rainwater harvesting tanks and clean water filtration systems spread across 11 barangays. The foundation aims to enable residents to obtain water from natural sources and thus prevent the spread of water-borne diseases at any time, but especially during disasters.
Dr. Reynilee Chrstine Cabilin, Department Head of the Dumanjug Municipal Health Office, also expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for the assistance provided: “We are so grateful for the generosity of the BingoPlus Foundation towards our municipality. It is so timely due to the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina. This will greatly help our people, especially those in the mountainous areas.”
Together with the newest sponsor, Kim Chiu, the star-studded and fun event highlighted the blessing of giving back through the BingoPlus Foundation. BingoPlus Day Cebu Carnival was an occasion solely to express BingoPlus’ gratitude to all its supporters.
