Netflix has a new Korean romantic comedy series “Boyfriend on Demand” (Working Title) Greenlit, with Blackpink member Jisoo next to SEO in-Guk (“Doom at your service”, “Café Minamdang”) in lead roles.
The high concept drama concentrates on an overworked web tone producer that discovers Romantiek through a subscription based on Virtual Reality dating program. Jisoo will portray SEO Mi-Rae, a career-oriented creative creative whose love life takes an unexpected turn when she receives a “monthly boyfriend” device with which she can date apparently perfect virtual vovers.
SEO In-Guk plays Park Kyeong-Nam, a rival web tone producer whose icy exterior masks hidden depths. The complex dynamics of his character with Mi-Rae promises to add tension to the story of romance in the workplace.
At the Helm is director Kim Jung-Sik, known for his agile touch with in series such as comedy drama “Work Later, Drink Now” and Comedy-Romance “No Gain No Love”. The track record of the Helmer suggests that the show will balance its high -tech starting point with grounded emotional stories.
The series continues the investment of Netflix in Korean content, after the series of hits of the streamer in the romance genre. Earlier this month, Netflix revealed its 2025 Lei.
The series marks the newest acting company of Jisoo after her success in Disney+ and JTBC’s “Snowdrop” and her new Prime video series “Newtopia”, which debuted in February and follows the journey of a few to reunite in the midst of a zombie outbreak In Seoul.
