A body that corresponds to the description of a missing student of the Boulder from the University of Colorado was found on Saturday morning in Boulder Canyon, according to the office of the Sheriff of Boulder County.
The announcement came after the local, national and federal law enforcement had performed their search for 18-year-old Megan Trussell, who was last seen that her campus left on 9 February.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Vinnie Montez and University of Colorado Boulder Police Department spokesman Nicole Mueksch said they could not confirm whether the body is Tressels, but said that the person will be identified by the Boulder County Coroner office.
First Responders did a technical evacuation – including rumbling – to restore the body, according to the press release.
Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers found the body.
The news comes after the police have carried out several searches with drones, search and rescue dogs and a diving team in the 400 block of Boulder Canyon Drive in the past days.
Trussell was last seen at 9 p.m. Sunday 9 February and left her Campus dormitory, Hallett Hall. She was wearing a blue jacket, dark colored yoga style pants and white platform sneakers, according to Christine Mahoney, a spokeswoman for the Cu police.
Cu Boulder Police and local and national law enforcement agencies worked to find the student. A CU Boulder -Politie vehicle, members of the Bouldering Emergency Squad Dive team and other search and rescue staff were parked in the 400 block of Boulder Canyon Drive around the middle of the day on Thursday, according to a photographer who went to the scene.
