A former Colorado real estate developer and alumnus from the University of Denver was shot in Belize on Friday.

Boris Mannsfeld56, was found on Friday evening in a puddle of blood in his Belize Luxury Development Project, the CocoPlum Villas in Maya Beach, According to local news stores. The police told local reporters that Mannsfeld died of a shot at the back of his neck.

Mannsfeld received his Master of Business Administration in 1995 and spent more than a decade as a recognized broker in Colorado before moving to Belize in 2006, according to His real estate company Biography.

In one Interview with Denver Colorado Luxury Magazine Mannsfeld published in January, said he arrived for the first time in Belize “on a whim in 1992”, in love with the “atmosphere”.

He started investing in Belize Real Estate that year and started a career of more than 30 years in tropical development.

Belize News sales points reported that the death of Mannsfeld raised questions, especially after an e-mail appeared, where he described a controversial, multimillion dollar fraud case that was linked to the death of two employees: Ricardo Borja and Darren Taylor.

The Denver post was not immediately able to obtain a copy of the E -mail, but Belize’s Channel 5 said it contained information about stolen assets and money laundering.

The e -mail also contains instructions to release important evidence – including names, bank details and passwords – to important news broadcasts and American legislators if something would happen to Mannsfeld, Channel 5 reported.
