Casio releases its first ‘smart ring’, the CRW-001-1JR, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its very first digital watch.
The smart ring has the same shape as a Casio wristwatch, but the difference is that it fits on your finger. The Verge writes that although the housing is barely a centimeter in size, it does provide space for an LCD screen that can display hours, minutes and seconds.
The smart ring also has three buttons that can control additional functions, such as displaying the date or time in a different time zone. There is also a stopwatch, built-in light and an alarm function.
The battery should last about two years before needing to be replaced – so it’s a bit different, like that of the Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura Ring 4
The CRW-001-1JR will be released in Japan in December and will cost 19,800 yen, which equates to around £100/$127.
