CHOCO MUCHO is looking forward to the last bus to the quarter-finals as it clashes with PLDT in the final match date of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference elimination round at the Filoil EcoOil Arena on Thursday.
The Flying Titans currently sit ninth with a record of 2-5 and are knocking on the door of the quarterfinals, but a win over the High Speed Hitters in their 3 p.m. showdown would see them reach the knockout stages enter the playoff phase.
There they will face the overachieving Akari Chargers, who defied the overwhelming odds to beat the elims in eight matches to claim the top seed.
If not, it will be Farm Fresh, currently clutching at number 8 with a score of 3-5, that will seal the final slot.
Actually, a victory for Choco Mucho would leave the team in a tie for eighth place with Farm Fresh, but the former has the higher FIVB tiebreak score and advances.
PLDT, which holds a 5-2 card, won’t be taking it easy as it looks to enter the next round on the back of a win and feeling good about itself.
Also Creamline, as it aims to advance to the quarterfinals with a win over ZUS Coffee (0-7), who will tackle the former at 1 p.m., and a 6-2 slate instead of a 5-3 mark.
To conclude the busy three-day schedule, there will be the match between Chery Tiggo (5-2) and Petro Gazz (4-3) at 5 p.m.
