Concertgoers mistake Vail's Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater for Colorado Springs' new Ford Amphitheater

The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail never called itself the Ford Amphitheater, but the shortened handle stuck anyway.

It’s never been an issue until this summer, when a new location in Colorado Springs sold its naming rights to the Ford Motor Company, and the Colorado Springs location chose that name.

Some concertgoers predicted this would be a problem. On Instagram, one user predicted in a post announcing the venue’s new name that there would be “a lot of (dismayed) people buying tickets to the wrong venue.”
