A Costco supplier has recalled Kodiak brand waffles after some waffles were found to be contaminated with pieces of plastic film.
The manufacturer, Kodiak Cakes LLC, initiated the recall, which includes waffles that do not expire until January 10, 2026. There are concerns that consumers are stocking the waffles because of their long shelf life.
The affected Kodiak Power Waffles Buttermilk & Vanilla are packaged in boxes of 40 and did not ship until August 25th. The waffles have been sold in 13 states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The recalled wafers can be identified by the UPC number 705599019203 and lot code 24193-WL4.
At the time the recall was issued, no injuries had been confirmed.
Consumers can return any unused portions of the recalled waffles to their local Costco store for a full refund. For more information, consumers can contact Kodiak via email at flapjacks@kidoakcakes.com or by phone at 801-328-4067.
