Liverpool will hope to extend their strong start under Arne Slot on Saturday when they take on Crystal Palace in the hope of staying at the top of the Premier League.
The Reds go into the weekend one point ahead of reigning champions Manchester City and appear to be off to a steady start to the season, making them the favorites heading into their weekend clash. The same cannot be said for Crystal Palace, who are winless in their first six games and sit in 18th place, eroding the optimism that arose when Oliver Glasner was hired as manager last March.
Here’s what you need to know before you tune in.

Storylines
Minus that one loss to Nottingham Forest last month, things have been so good so far at the start of Slot’s tenure as Liverpool manager. They have outscored their opponents twelve to two in the league and combined with two wins from two in the Champions League, this transition year feels more like a period of cruise control. That’s true despite the fact that Slot’s team has a different look and feel to that of his predecessor Jurgen Klopp, but the more subdued approach has proven just as effective.
It helps that Slot can rely on a handful of Liverpool’s old players. Luis Diaz has already scored five goals in the Premier League, while Mohamed Salah has four and four assists. The pair are expected to take the lead on Saturday, and should have little trouble replenishing their accounts.
Prediction
There is little indication that Liverpool won’t leave London with all three points, so expect the Reds to maintain their lead in the table heading into the international break. Choose: Crystal Palace 0, Liverpool 3
