Cassidy throws water on the chorus of Trump’s ACA repeal
Just hours after former President Trump repeated his claim during Tuesday’s presidential debate that he is working on ideas to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, a top Republican in the Senate has dismissed the possibility out of hand.
On Wednesday morning, I spoke with Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who could lead the Senate Health Committee if Republicans retake the chamber. He said he is only interested in health care reform if it is bipartisan, and that Democrats are not interested in replacing the Affordable Care Act. However, he did say that some smaller policies could be adopted at the margins.
