“Deadpool & Wolverine” got off to a strong start in its streaming debut.

According to Disney, the Marvel Studios film was viewed 19.4 million times worldwide (views are defined as total streaming time divided by runtime) after six days of streaming, with the film becoming available on Disney+ on November 12. That makes it the most viewed film. live-action film on Disney+ and Hulu since the streaming release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in early 2023.

By comparison, Disney reported in September that the animated film “Inside Out 2” received 30.5 million views in its first five days on Disney+.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” debuted in theaters in July 2024. The film not only marked the entry of Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also saw Hugh Jackman reprise the role of Wolverine after parting ways with the character in “Logan.” in 2017. In the film, Deadpool learns that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) plans to wipe out his universe, forcing him to team up with the Wolverine from another timeline in the multiverse to save it.

The film also saw the return of (SPOILER ALERT) previous stars from Marvel films such as Wesley Snipes as Blade, Dafne Keen as X-23, Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. Channing Tatum also made his long-awaited debut as the ‘X-Men’ character Gambit. Emma Corrin also starred in the film as the villain, Cassandra Nova.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” proved to be a major financial success, grossing over $1.3 billion worldwide against a reported budget of $200 million.
