The Democratic National Committee is once again targeting Donald Trump with projected messages, this time in an arena while he held a campaign rally inside.
On Sunday, the former president held a stunningly hateful rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where speakers spewed racist vitriol and authoritarian rhetoric.
On the outside of the room, a projected note read: “Trump praised Hitler.”
Other projections included “Trump = Cheat,” “Trump = Unhinged,” and “Trump = Unfit.”
DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman said it served as a reminder to voters.
“We all see it, we all know it: Donald Trump is becoming increasingly unhinged and seeking unchecked power to implement his dangerous Project 2025 agenda,” Rahman said. posted on Xformerly Twitter. “That’s why @TheDemocrats is reminding voters that Americans cannot afford Trump’s unstable and unwell behavior — even at his own rallies.”
It comes as the Republican candidate has used increasingly extreme rhetoric in the latter part of the race for the White House, and amid growing concerns about his cognitive health due to strange and erratic behavior on the campaign trail.
Last week, his former chief of staff, John Kelly, came forward to warn that he believes Trump meets the definition of a fascist and would rule as a dictator if elected.
He also said that his former boss had praised Hitler to him “more than once.”
Democrats have used the messaging tactic several times during the 2024 campaign. Ahead of the Oct. 1 vice presidential debate in New York, the DNC fooled Trump by projecting a barb from his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, onto Trump Tower in Manhattan.
“Vance on Trump: ‘What an idiot,’” it said, referring to the statement a tweet from October 2016 from the Ohio Republican.
