Prosecutors then repeated an earlier argument, claiming there was no guarantee Combs wouldn’t try to interfere in the federal case, citing his “pattern of violence” against women and his staff, who could be called as witnesses in the case .
In an earlier motion filed on Nov. 15, prosecutors alleged that Combs attempted to “corruptly influence witness statements” by asking family members to contact victims and potential witnesses and construct “stories” that could sway their opinions.
Combs was also accused of asking his children to make social media posts in honor of his birthday, including posting a video, because of “his desired effect on potential jurors in this case.”
In the video, Combs spoke to his son from behind bars, telling him, “I can’t wait to see all of you. I just want to say I’m proud of you, especially the girls. I mean, all of you just because you are strong.”
