A new video from Sean “Diddy” Combs has resurfaced in light of his recent misconduct scandal.

Diddy, now 54, was seen speaking The ring actress Daveigh Chasewho was 12 at the time, backstage at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. (Diddy was 33 at the time.)

“Are you coming to the afterparty tonight?” Diddy asked Chase, now 34, in the clip, which has been circulating X following the music mogul’s arrest last month.

Chase nodded shyly as Diddy burst out laughing. Neither Diddy nor Chase addressed the interaction further. We weekly has requested comment.

Decades before he was indicted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Sean “Diddy” Combs predicted he would run afoul of the law. “They’re probably going to arrest me and do all kinds of crazy things just because we want to have a good time,” Diddy, now 54, told Entertainment Tonight in 1999. During the awards ceremony, Diddy and actor Ashton Kutcher presented Chase with the Best Villain trophy for her role as Samara in the 2002 horror film The ring.

“I just want to say, ‘Everyone will suffer,'” Chase said in her acceptance speech, using Samara’s signature accent before Diddy presented her with the gold popcorn statue. “Thanks, MTV rocks!”

Celebrities are weighing in after the recent arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs. The music mogul was taken into custody in New York on September 16. The next day, a fourteen-page indictment was made public alleging that Diddy “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him.” The rapper has now entered a not guilty plea […]

In a 14-page complaint, which cited Diddy’s famous parts as clear evidence of the claims, the rapper allegedly “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him” for decades. Diddy was also accused of using the acts to “fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his behavior.”

Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges before a judge denied him bail on three separate attempts. He was remanded in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his trial, which is set to begin in early 2025.

“We are disappointed with the decision to proceed with what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney said. Marc Agnifilo told We weekly in a statement. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the past 30 years building an empire, adores his children and working to uplift the Black community.”

Agnifilo added: “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative in this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week pending these charges. Please reserve judgment until you have all the facts. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Earlier this month, Diddy was also accused of sexual assault and rape by multiple people, including a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. Diddy, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing against him since 2023, has not publicly discussed the new lawsuits. Us reached out for comment.
