In IFA in September 2024, Dream demonstrated a robot vacuum with retractable legs that could use itself and actually climb a step. It was not entirely the stair climbing robot of our wildest imagination, but it is an impressive technical performance that shows how far robotoffacums have come.
On CES 2025, the X50 Ultra Complete Robot -vacuum, with the “Proleap” system, is launched. And now it is available to buy.
We have already tested it, so you can watch our review to find out more about what it’s like to use. Or read on for all facts about this model.
What is the Proleap system?
While Roborock (with the Qrevo-Curv) and Shark (with the PowerDetect never touch Pro 2-in-1) have already launched robot vacuums that can eliminate themselves to deal with raised thresholds and thick carpets, the Proleap system goes a step further literally.
The X50 series Robot has two robot legs that extend to angle the body of the robot vacuum up, allowing it to climb a step of a maximum of 4.2 cm, or a series of steps of a maximum of 6 cm. So no, it can’t handle a staircase. But if you have high thresholds, uneven floors or a change in floor height between rooms that prevented you from getting the most out of a robot vacuum, this technology could change the game for you.
Dream
If you think that hanging around will probably cause a lot of wear on the robot, Dream has tested it and thinks that the X50 Ultra complete 30,000 times in its lifetime can scramble without damage about obstacles.
When is the X50 Ultra fully available to buy and what does it cost?
The X50 Ultra Complete is now available to buy in the UK. It costs £ 1,299 from Amazon and Dream. If you buy it on 28 February, or seven days later, you can get it for only £ 1,199 as a special early bird offer.
The X50 Ultra is also available in the US. It costs $ 1,699.99, but you can currently order it at Amazon or Dree for $ 1,399.99, using a coupon on the page.
What other functions does the X50 have ultra complete?
The Proleap technology is not the only top function that the X50 Ultra has. It can not only climb, but it can also clean under low furniture, thanks to a smart piece of technology.
You are probably used to seeing robot vacuums with an elevated Lidar tower on top, and that is what you get on the X50 Ultra. An increased tower of this kind is one of the best ways to insure accurate object detection and mapping, because it offers a 360-degree viewpoint for the DTOF (immediate time of flight) sensors.
The disadvantage of this function is that it increases the height of the robot vacuum, which can limit the cleaning potential.
However, the tower on the X50 Ultra is complete with some Dream “Versalift” technology, so that the DTOF tower can retreat to the body of the robot vacuum, so that it can clean under low furniture.

Dream
It also has a different robot -like limb – the “double flex” arm, so that it can clean up the right to walls and in corners and under low furniture.
The X50 Ultra has 20,000 PA suction power, which means it must be more than a match for serious mess, even on carpet. But thanks to a silent fan, it should do his job quietly.
It can also handle a series of floor types, thanks to the automatic joke, removal, mopt and sucking reduction, carpet avoidance and intensive carpet cleaning – depending on the work and the floor type that it encounters.
