Evie, a smart ring made specifically for women, is getting a new feature in the form of an AI-powered wellness assistant that aims to be a more reliable source for your medical questions than ChatGPT and better than rivals like Oura.
At CES 2025, Movano Health says EvieAI is the first-ever wearable virtual wellness assistant and is trained using data from more than 100,000 medical journals to ensure you get more accurate answers to your questions.
The assistant will be available through Evie’s companion smartphone app and for those hesitant to chat about all things health with an AI chatbot, Movano Health says it follows industry standard encryption protocols to ensure data are protected when shared and stored.
This should mean that any chats with EvieAI cannot be traced back to individual users for privacy reasons.
Movano Health
Movano Health has plans to enhance the capabilities of its AI wellness assistant to provide personalized responses based on the data captured by the smart ring and captured by users in the app.
So that would include metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, exercise and mood. However, as mentioned, this is a feature planned for the future.
For now, existing Evie Ring owners can access the EvieAI beta for free. While it’s no Evie Ring 2, adding new features to the existing Ring should be welcome news for existing users and for a smart ring that has received mixed reviews since it went on sale.
There has also been an increase in competition since the Evie Ring was first unveiled in 2022 and then launched in 2024.
AI in wearables is generally still in its infancy, so it will be intriguing to see if this makes the Evie Ring more attractive or if Movano Health needs to do more to convince potential smart ring owners to choose this one over, say, the others . Oura Ring and the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Smart rings announced at CES 2025 include the Circular Ring 2 and Ultrahuman Rare.
