What started as a rescue operation has now turned into a recovery operation as fire and rescue crews search for a missing person at Rampart Reservoir.
Crews from the Colorado Springs Fire Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife responded Saturday afternoon to Rampart Reservoir — about 12 miles northwest of Colorado Springs — after a person went missing in the water. firefighters said.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department, a special operations drone team and a search and rescue dive team all responded to the call Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department took control of the incident from Colorado Parks and Wildlife as the rescue operation transitioned to recovering the body, fire officials said.
People are asked to avoid the reservoir while crews work.
