A former pilot for Aurora-based United Airlines was sentenced to prison Monday for posting photos of his girlfriend on revenge porn websites, Utah court officials said.
Andrew Hill, 36, pleaded guilty in October to 10 crimes, including eight counts of distribution of pornography, one count of stalking and one count of sexual extortion, court records show.
According to court documents, the plea agreement dropped additional charges of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image and harassment by electronic communications from Hill’s case. It also stipulated that his sentences for each offense would run concurrently.
Judge Matthew Bell on Monday sentenced Hill to a maximum of 5 years in a Utah prison on each charge, the maximum sentence allowed by law. This was reported by the Iron County Attorney’s Office.
The judge called Hill’s actions “disgusting and hurtful” and said he was a “selfish, vindictive person,” according to the county attorney’s office.
“Hill obtained intimate images of the victim and posted them to various pornographic sites in order to emotionally and financially terrorize and harm the victim,” the district attorney’s office said. “This behavior continued for years.”
Hill’s girlfriend, who lives in Cedar City, Utah, told police that he had created online profiles posing as her and posting nude photos for more than a decade, according to his arrest affidavit. She said random men would call her and show up at her workplace looking for sex.
Utah’s Board of Pardons will ultimately determine how much of the zero-to-five year period Hill will spend in prison, but Bell advised Hill to serve the maximum, with no credit for time served and no chance of parole.
