A Colorado Springs man was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison and 12 years of supervised release for sexually abusing a child in his care.
Mitchel Crow, 32, was a civilian who lived at the U.S. Army post Fort Carson near Colorado Springs between May and December 2020, during which time “several” incidents of abuse occurred, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado.
“There is nothing more important than protecting children in our society,” federal prosecutor Matt Kirsch said in the news release. “This lengthy sentence reflects the severity of the suspect’s abuse of a minor he should have protected.”
The FBI’s Denver Field Office led the investigation and U.S. District Court Judge Raymond P. Moore presided over the September 25 ruling.
