Remember when Pixel phones were significantly cheaper than iPhones or Samsung Galaxys of the same generation, and you didn’t have to wait for an A variant to get a good deal? I do. It was fun.
If you’re still a Pixel fan but also a deal hunter, maybe check out the new, refurbished section of the official Google Store. It offers some big discounts on phones with a full one-year warranty.
At the time of writing, the store is only offering discounts on Pixel models in the US (spotted by Android Central). Here’s a quick overview of the phones and prices:
- Pixel 6a – $249
- Pixel 6, 128GB – $339
- Pixel 6, 256GB – $389
- Pixel 6 Pro – $539
- Pixel 7, 128GB – $429
- Pixel 7, 256GB – $479
- Pixel 7 Pro, 128GB – $629
- Pixel 7 Pro, 256GB – $679
- Pixel 7 Pro, 512GB – $779
Please note that different capacities and colors will go in and out of stock as Google’s supply of returned and repaired phones fluctuates. Phones in the newer Pixel 8 and 9 series are noticeably absent, but will likely appear at some point, especially as the company’s primary store inventory is running low and it appears to be clearing out inventory.
You may notice that there is a distinct lack of Pixel Watches offered in this section of the Google Store. That’s because Pixel Watches are basically impossible to repair, so the only items available for this program are open-box items. Google may or may not open refurbished sales outside the US… but if it does, I think it will take a while.
It’s pretty good to get full Google support, but I should point out that you can often find better deals on these phones. For example, a quick Amazon search will show a brand new Pixel 7 Pro 128GB for just $405. And if you’re okay with a “refreshed” phone, you can get a Pixel 6a for just $184, albeit without warranty. That extra peace of mind may be worth the extra fees you pay at the Google Store.
