Disney is starting 2025 with a dose of horror. In January, the service will debut the second season of Goosebumps – a series based on the well-known children’s books by RL Stine. The American writer’s novels tell stories about children and teenagers who get involved in all kinds of paranormal adventures, using their humor and courage to cope.
Stine’s books were adapted for television in the 1990s, but Disney decided to bring a fresh version of the famous horror stories. The new Goosebumps is an anthology that tells a different story and introduces new characters every season. The series is created by Rob Letterman (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu) and Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), who write and executive produce the series.
These are the horrors that await you in the second part of the show, now with the additional title: The Vanishing.
When is Goosebumps: The Vanishing coming out?
The second season of Goosebumps premieres Disney+ and Hulu on Friday January 10, 2025. The series will consist of eight episodes that will be released weekly on the platforms.

What will be the plot of Goosebumps: The Vanishing?
The upcoming installment of Goosebumps picks up 30 years after the end of season 1, set in 1994. Anthony Brewer is a botany professor whose brother disappeared under mysterious circumstances thirty years earlier. Anthony is also a divorced father and his children, Cece and Devin, are visiting him in Brooklyn – all three of them are going to spend the summer together. However, dark secrets and ancient monsters have not disappeared.

“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” begins as twins Cece and Devin Brewer spend a summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their divorced father, whose GRT. A threat arises and they soon realize there are dark secrets among them, setting off a series of events that unravel a deep mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin and their friends – Alex, CJ and Frankie – become entangled in the chilling story of four teenagers who mysteriously disappeared in 1994.
The second season of Goosebumps is based on the books Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, The Girl Who Cried Monster, The Ghost Next Door and Welcome To Camp Nightmare.
