Huis republicans are planning to use a special budget process to extend tax cuts for private individuals, take immigration measures and to stimulate military expenditure. The process, called reconciliation, avoids the risk of Filibuster, allowing Republicans to set their priorities without the support of Democrats.

Republicans would like to pay for a large part of those costs, although there is disagreement between moderates and conservatives about how much to compensate.
