Gracie Abrams hopes for ‘privacy’ in her life after Paul Mescal Photos

Gracie Abrams is (sort of) about her relationship status with Paul Mescal.

Abrams, 24, and Mescal, 28, were spotted together at London restaurant Brat last month, fueling romance rumors.

“It’s all creepy,” Abrams said The Sunday times in a profile published on Sunday, August 11. “You hope for only privacy in your life, just like everyone else. That’s just the truth.”

Although Abrams didn’t elaborate on the couple’s bond, she has been in the spotlight since childhood. She is the daughter of acclaimed director-producers JJ Abrams And Katie McGrathbut the singer claims against the Times that despite their Hollywood careers, she grew up in a “significantly less glamorous” environment.

“My parents would go to work and then come home. They would ask [my two siblings and I] about school, they asked us about friends, big ideas that kids have – all typical mundane, magical, boring stuff,” Gracie recalled to the British outlet. “I was so uninterested in being associated with anything my dad did for a living growing up — not because I don’t love him — but because I just had no interest in going down that path, you know?”

Gracie has since found her own success as a singer-songwriter, although she initially had no intention of performing on stage.

“I never wanted to be an artist. I just wanted to write,” Gracie said, noting the release of the latest album The secret of us took her career to new heights. “I feel like going somewhere sometimes feels less discreet. I’m adapting a bit in that capacity.”

She continued, “But what can you do? It’s a real blessing for people to recognize what I love to do.”

Months earlier The secret of us fell, Gracie was tapped to join in Taylor Swiftis record breaking Eras tour as an opening act.

“I had absolutely no expectations whatsoever that I would be included in that capacity,” Gracie said. ‘When I met her it felt like we already knew each other, and I’m sure there was an element of that, just like the parasocial relationship thing. I grew up with her voice in my headphones all my life.”

Gracie was later able to co-write with Swift, 34, for the song ‘Us’ The secret of us. The pair performed the single live for the first time at Swift’s London concert in June.

“When I tell you I love this girl so much,” Swift said during the show. “When you write with someone, it’s like you see everything [and] all the artistry, you see who this person really is, and when you write with her, she’s so badass. That’s a writer, for example.’
