“A special long weekend in Paris 💙Paltrow, 52, wrote via Instagram early on Sunday, December 1, with photos from the Paris gala the night before.
In one photo, Paltrow stunned in a black polka dot Valentino dress with sheer sleeves and a faux turtleneck. She stood next to ex-husband Martin, 47, and their 18-year-old son, Moses, who both wore custom tuxedos from Valentino. Alessandro Michele. The trio was joined by Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Dannerwho wore a gray dress, a pink blazer and a pearl necklace.
Apple, 20, is part of Le Bal’s class of 2024, where she wore a custom blue Valentino dress with six dégradé layers of silk pleated chiffon and trimmed with a black bow. According to FashionIt took the brand’s 52-year-old creative director Michele more than 700 hours to create the dress.
Danner, 81, also met actor Boris Kodjoe and designer David Nettowhose respective daughters Sophie and Madelyn made their Le Bal debut alongside Apple.
Reese Witherspoonwhose daughter Ava was a debutante at Le Bal in 2017, gave Paltrow’s post a subtle ‘like’.

The student took the photo while trying on her Valentino dress. Paltrow, for her part, wore a casual black dress for the fit.
Elsewhere in Paltrow’s photo roundup, she shared a glimpse of Martin and Moses bonding in a park before she and Danner took the teen to an art gallery.
Paltrow and Martin “consciously uncoupled” in 2014 after 10 years together as they continued to focus on amicably raising a blended family.
“Chris and I committed to putting them first and that’s harder than it seems because some days you really don’t want to be with the person you’re divorcing,” Paltrow said. The Drew Barrymore Show in September 2020. “But if you feel like having a family dinner, you do it. You take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your appointment, and you smile, and you hug, and you recommit to this new relationship that you’re trying to nurture.
Paltrow has a particularly close relationship with both Apple and Moses, and ultimately found things difficult when they left for college in 2022 and 2024, respectively. (Apple is a student at Vanderbilt University, while Moses is enrolled at Brown University.)
“It has been a big transition. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it would be hard because Apple and I are so close and were together all the time,” Paltrow shared exclusively. We weekly in October 2022. “But I had no idea. It felt like the worst heartbreak I’ve ever had [felt]. It felt like the love of my life had broken up with me for weeks. It was terrible.”
The Oscar winner added at the time: “Now I’m getting more used to it and it also helps to see her happy and well-adjusted. That makes a huge difference. And she just came home for the October holidays, so that was good.
