Alec Baldwin is off the hook Halyna Hutchins‘ dead as far as the Ukrainian family of the ‘Rust’ cinematographer is concerned – her mother tears into him and refuses to attend the debut screening of the film.
Olga Solovej says Baldwin “my pain continues to be increased by his refusal to apologize to me and his refusal to take responsibility for her death. Instead, he is trying to wrongfully profit from my daughter’s murder.”
She says there has been no justice for her daughter, and as a result she will not attend the film’s premiere at the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival in Poland on Wednesday. Halyna’s mother, father and sister all live in Ukraine, which borders Poland… so it would be the easiest way for them to see Halyna’s latest film.
Olga says, “It was always my hope to meet my daughter in Poland and see her work come to life” – but she refuses to go, even though Alec won’t be there. Film festival organizers said they did not invite him because he would be a huge distraction.
Halyna’s foreign family has hired a lawyer Gloria Allred …who says Baldwin’s “decision not to even call the family to say he’s sorry is cruel and dishonors Halyna and her memory.”
As we reported, the film festival website crashed this morning when it started selling “Rust” tickets. Allred called the promotion of “Rust” an attempt to make a profit for Baldwin and “others who played a role in Halyna’s death.”
We’ve reached out to Baldwin’s team, but haven’t heard back yet.
Recall that Alec’s involuntary manslaughter trial in New Mexico ended abruptly in July, when the judge dismissed the case after discovering that prosecutors were hiding evidence from Baldwin’s team.
