Hannah Kobayashi — the Hawaiian woman who went temporarily missing in November — is back on American soil… after crossing the border into Mexico.
Our sources tell us that Hannah returned to California from Mexico over the weekend and was questioned by US officials to make sure she was okay.
We’re told that Hannah appeared to be healthy and not under any duress… and that she met her lawyer at the border and left with him after crossing into the United States.
TMZ broke the story… Hannah finally contact with her family last week after she was reported missing in November, and the LAPD investigation into her disappearance has been closed.
Hannah was initially reported missing after police in LA said she was released on bail on a connecting flight from LAX to New York… and she was later seen in LA several times before being caught on camera crossing to Mexico from California.
During the saga, Hannah’s father flew from Hawaii to LA to try to find her… and he died of an apparent suicide after searching for her for almost two weeks… he reportedly jumped to his death from a parking garage, at least according to police.
It’s still unclear if Hannah knows about her father’s death… but she’s spoken to her family and now her lawyer, so it’s entirely possible she knows his fate.
The LAPD has said they don’t believe Hannah was a victim of human trafficking or foul play… and they don’t believe she was involved in any criminal activity… but it’s interesting that her attorney, not her family, was there om greeted her when she returned from Mexico.
